Casey, labeled as The Journalist, is a contestant on Camp Total Drama. He is a member of the Confused Freaks.
Some say that journalism is a dead art. Others say it was never alive to begin with. Casey believes that journalism is the greatest thing in the world, and he’d happily argue with anyone who says otherwise. With his trusty journal in hand, Casey is always writing articles for his school’s newspaper. Casey also happens to be the only writer, sole editor, and club advisor of the school newspaper. He does like to take the occasional break from writing to observe people and their many different tendencies. He’s not creepy though, he swears.
Even though Casey is an excellent writer, he’s not so good at social interactions. He believes that a pen and paper hold so much power that he doesn’t really think about the words coming out of his own mouth. He tends to sound cold and snarky, and appears to be completely detached from reality upon first seeing him. His single father, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. Casey’s dad is about as loudmouthed as they come and he’s constantly pushing Casey to try something, anything, new. Sometimes Casey thinks his dad doesn’t take his journalism seriously, just like so many other people. Casey does have a small group of friends who at least kind of understand how serious he is about journalism.
Casey’s dad is the one who pushed him to audition for Total Drama. His exact words were “It’ll be something new to write about, or something.” Casey begrudgingly agreed to auditioning after growing tired of his dad’s and his friends’ insistence. Casey was actually considering throwing his acceptance letter out before his dad saw it, but he knew his dad would still find out somehow. After showing his dad the letter and seeing how happy he was, Casey began warming up to the idea of doing Total Drama, in hopes that he might really make his dad proud.
