Heather ran up to her room and jumped on her bed, sobbing.

She remembered the event clearly, it was still fresh in her mind.

Alejandro has saved her life, with his being taken away.

It was dark on that Saturday night.

Alejandro and Heather had just gone out on their second date, and he was walking her home.

Her arm was wrapped tightly around his, resting her head on his shoulder.

"I love you, Mi Amor." Alejandro said.

She smiled.

They walked about three blocks from the movie theater, and he decided to take the short way home; through an alley.

There a gang was waiting, waiting for someone to hurt, waiting for something to please them.

They stopped and turned around only for more gang members to be waiting there.

Alejandro stepped infront of her, willing to do anything for her safety.

The gang members charged, and they braced themselves, waiting for excruciating pain.

The biggest member of the gang held a pipe, an he knocked Alejandro with it, striking his head, a loud crack heard.

Heather's eyes widened in fear, for she believed that the huge man had killed him.

"You bitch!" Heather screamed. "You killed him!"

The only female gang member stepped up to Heather. "Whatch'a gonna do about it, Little Miss Whore?"

Heather swung at the girl, claws out. "Go to Hell, Bitch! Fuck off!" She cried.

The girl glared at her, and walked away.

Then, there was a siren going off.

The other gang members ran up the alley, fleeing for their lives.

Heather knelt down beside his cold body, picking up his head. She felt something warm and sticky: Blood.

She put his head down, and stared at her hands.

I can't believe he's gone. She thought.

The police arrived and she was taken to the police station, where her mother was going to pick her up.

Her mother stepped out of the office, for the police man wanted to speak with her before, but he had no further questions.

Heather got into the car and sobbed.

"Honey," her mother said, trying to sooth the pain. "I'm so sorry."

"I loved him mom," Heather croaked. "And now he's gone."

There was silence until they got home.

Heather sat on her front porch steps, looking at the stars.

She I remembered when she and Alejandro used to do this.

She looked at her feet and then back at the stars.

"I love you, Mi Amor."

And a teardrop rolled down her cheek.
