Welcome

Hi, welcome to Total Drama Island Fanfiction wikia! Thanks for your edit to the User:BadAsp page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- Weblykinly (Talk) 17:38, December 10, 2011

Tell Radi to check his talkpage. Who am I? What is this? Wait, forget that crap, I just found out who I am 00:04, February 26, 2012 (UTC)

Actually, I already had a challenge, I was just struggling to write it. Thanks for offering. I might ask to maybe use the idea in the future then. :) --If your undies are tight, it's uncomfortable. If you're a boy and your bra is tight, I'm uncomfortable 04:22, February 26, 2012 (UTC)

We don't allow intimidation or harrassment, in accordance with Wikia Central's policy, and people have been banned for it. As for whether saying "something negative or mean-spirited about another user on someone's talk page" qualifies depends on the situation, because "negative" doesn't necessarily mean "untrue", "mean-spirited" is in the eye of the beholder, and there is no right to not be offended because offensiveness is also in the eye of the beholder. I, or any other admin, would therefore need to know more about the situation.

I can, however, say this: If you were referring specifically to what Frank said about you on Webly's talk page, I don't think that's a rules violation, because Frank's comments were in the context of a project that he and Webly are collabing on, and Frank was telling Webly why he doesn't want to work with you. For the admins to take action in this case, you'd have to show us (at the very least) that Frank's comments about you were untrue. Note also that Webly is an admin himself, so I think this problem (if this is, in fact, the problem you were alluding to) is between the three of you. If, on the other hand, you were referring to a different incident, then I'd need to know more about the details before I could advise you. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! Hello I'm TM. And just in case you haven't an idea for the other letter names yet. I have ideas for you. D is for Dominquia or Desmond. F is for Franny or Franklin. H is for Henry or Hayley. I is for Ivy or Ivan. L is for Lesley or Luther. T is for Tessie or Thad. U is for Ursula. B is for Beatrice or Beck. Z is for Zuke or Zora.Tmhall02 15:48, March 2, 2012 (UTC)

Elementary, my dear BadAsp. My avatar is one of the default avatars, and apparently the most popular one. EnTrey 00:44, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

This is QOS's fave avatar. When I first joined, they thought I was QOS. EnTrey 00:51, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

That's what people seem to think. I can't speak to that point, because I've had no contract with Dramafan. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 04:52, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

Regarding TDI Abridged: We have a rule that categories must contain at least two items, so you can't create a new category unless you have at least two things to put in it. I've no doubt that we can find other things for the "Parody" category (which I'll probably rename "Parodies" for greater consistency with other major category names), but I'm not so sure about "Abridged Series", which would just be a subcategory of Parody anyway. XDDD

I laughed SO hard when I read "How not to write a fanfic." It had so many random and funny parts. I burst out laughing every time I said Gwen's REALLY long name. Keep up the good work! -MLBert

OK, but it would be better to use the pre-existing {{R}} template. That way, if somebody wants to know what all the R-rated stories are, they can see what links to the template and your story will be included. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Thanks, you could have signed up on the blog or on my talk page or somewhere in private. All work. And as for Alphamara, I kind of have the stories already planned, but we'll see. Drink cactus juice! It'll quench 'ya! 19:35, November 3, 2012 (UTC)

Looks fine to me. It was probably just a software glitch in loading the page. Wifey noticed the same or a similar glitch the other day, and I was able to fix it by clearing the cache (Ctrl-F5). A simple refresh (F5) might also have done the trick, but I didn't try that. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 17:17, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Addendum: I just thought of another possible explanation. (I'm guessing, since you didn't include a screenshot.) I've noticed that if a story has a large TOC, it will sometimes be collapsed when the page opens. If that's the case, then just click on the link that says "Show" to get the full table. A reader can also collapse the table manually. In any case, the problem you encountered probably affected only your own computer. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! I haven't taken it yet and I'm kind of a procrastinator, but you can trust me. I'll get it done. I haven't missed a quiz yet, which is more than a lot of people can say :P We found dove in a soapless place... 23:19, December 17, 2012 (UTC)

Hey! You've been accepted to the writing staff of Total Drama Idiots. Thanks for commenting on the blog. I don't know when the next meeting will be regarding the sixth chapter. Whenever I see Rhonda next, I'll talk to her about it. :) --If your undies are tight, it's uncomfortable. If you're a boy and your bra is tight, I'm uncomfortable 23:26, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Hey! Right now, I'm kind of at a stand still with Idiots. I've just decided that there will be an Idiots Team Meeting on Thursday at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at a new spot called "Titan Pad": http://titanpad.com/TkYPJ7mgnF . Please go there at that time. If you cannot make it, please respond. We will have a meeting even if I'm the only one on. The order of which people should write at this moment is: MrE then BadAsp then Rhonda then me. I really want to finish it and we have like the whole wiki reading it. With that much of an audience, we can definitely finish this epically (if that's a word). :3 Please make it. --If your undies are tight, it's uncomfortable. Worst of the Worst has to go in any case, because it meets our definition of a dead fic--no significant updates in a year and no evidence that the author has any intention of continuing it. Furthermore, when Sprink left the wiki, he told us that he would be OK with our deleting his stories if that was what we wanted to do. My response at the time was that (as he surely knew) we don't normally delete finished stories unless the author specifically requests it--which he has now done--and that we would wait the statutory year on Worst of the Worst.

When an author requests deletion of a finished story, our policy is to do as they ask. Furthermore, such requests carry the presumption that the author is acting of his own volition, which means that anyone alleging "undue influence" (to use the legal term) or coercion bears the burden of proof. It's not the admins' job to investigate vague suspicions, and we're not equipped to do so in any case. Without solid evidence, we can't break policy just because Sprink was a high-profile user. The best we can do is drag our feet whilst we try to find out more, which is what we've been doing. I've asked Sprink to meet us partway on this (i.e. do some of the deletions himself) because we're talking about 5% or more of the wiki's total content, and I also asked for clarification on a couple of points; but he said that he doesn't check his e-mail very often, so it may be a while before I hear from him. But the fact that he has deleted his profile and talk pages--not just cleared them, but actually deleted them--suggests that he's serious. He's also deleted whatever stories he had on fanfiction.net, although I don't remember whether he had anything but Boney Island posted there. He mainly just used fanfiction.net for PMs.

As for "what Sprink is hiding and why", those questions assume facts that are not in evidence. Users on most websites in general and this wiki in particular have no obligation to divulge any details at all about their offline life--something that the "oversharing generation" tends to lose sight of. (To give a local example, Sunshine is is a high-profile user known to be very secretive about her offline life.)

I suggested with tongue in cheek that maybe he's joined the Seventh Day Adventists or something. I don't actually believe that, but it does fit the facts--most notably because one of the lifestyle restrictions that Adventists accept is that they're not allowed to read fiction. When I asked him why he didn't just delete everything himself (since he still has admin powers), he replied that he doesn't have Internet at home anymore--just at friends' houses, libraries, and so on--which does suggest a major lifestyle change.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if Sprink should change his mind someday, the deleted articles and files can be recovered. It won't be as easy if somebody else takes the titles in the meantime, but it can still be done. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 15:24, August 20, 2013 (UTC)

Not really a theory, since I don't seriously believe it. It's more like an idle speculation that just happens to fit the facts available to us. That's as may be, Sprink contacted me via PM at fanfiction.net. I had sent him a PM several months ago on an unrelated matter. He never responded to that, but it did tell him that I now have an account there. I have no other way to contact him. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! Yeah, I've been meaning to leave Frank a message about that, since he might not know the policy. Our current policy (as detailed on the Rules page) is that if an apparent dead fic becomes a candidate for deletion and the author then states intent to continue it, he has three months to post one full chapter or equivalent supporting material to keep the page alive.

If you don't mind my saying so, you sound oddly vehement. Is there something you'd like to get off your chest? As for Frank's activities on DeviantArt, the admins here are really only concerned with whether he does or does not continue the story as promised. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, such as serious illness or injury, the "why" really doesn't interest us that much.

Speaking of stories, I still mean to get back to Alpharama, but I've been very busy of late and I'm a very slow reader. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 01:39, October 3, 2013 (UTC)

No, blogging about it here would probably end badly for you because of our rule against importing drama. What happens on other sites such as DeviantArt is beyond our jurisdiction and therefore is not our concern. I'm sorry I can't be more help, but this sounds like something you will have to work out with Frank. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 14:34, October 3, 2013 (UTC)

Hey BadAsp, unfortunately your stories Total Drama Alpharama and Total Drama Island Abridged have both gone over a year without significant edits and have bothe become candidates for deletion.  This is truly unfortunate as I know Alpharama is in it's final six and Abridged has 8 chapters already, but they've sat too long without edits.  If you'd like to continue either or both of the stories please contact me with your intent to do so within the week or I'll have to delete them.  I'm really sorry this has happened and whatever reason you had for stopping I hope you continue, thanks.  Space was here some time ago and he wrote stuff. 17:30, May 9, 2015 (UTC)

Under our dead fic rules, you must post at least one new chapter or equivalent (e.g. major revisions of multiple chapters) within three months. If you fail to do so, your story may be deleted at that time without further notice. In other words, you might get another warning in that case, but you shouldn't count on it, especially if you're not active here. (It was with much regret that we finally deleted Frank's story after he missed multiple extension deadlines, but that regret didn't stop us.) The purpose of this rule is to stop people stringing the admins along indefinitely. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 04:40, May 19, 2015 (UTC)

Yeah that's not an issue, That's why I held off on deleting it until now.  However as Gid said you've got three months to put up a new chapter so don't dilly dally too bad! Space was here some time ago and he wrote stuff. 12:19, May 19, 2015 (UTC)
