Hi, welcome to Total Drama Island Fanfiction wikia! Thanks for your edit to the Total Drama the New Challenge page.
For the elimination charts, I usually copy and paste another one, look at different possible colors, and make changes. I used to draw pictures for people, but I unfortunately have little time to do it, anymore. SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 02:35, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
Sure. I'll check it out. If you want more comments/friends start reading and commenting on other stories, being helpful with blogposts, and stuff like that. SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 23:33, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
I read part 1. I really liked it. I'm just not a fan of the occult or stuff like that, so I'm not sure if that's in the story. I think you write really well, though. SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 23:53, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
Okay. I'll see if it bugs me that much, because I can't bring myself to read it if it would bug me, ya know? Anyway, you don't have to get too personal about details on yourself (like your userpage). I have to say I'm intrigued, but I don't really wanna pry. XD SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 00:07, May 11, 2010 (UTC)
I do not have any stories; I am basically one of the wiki's most iconic non-writers. You can take a look at my character library though. I design characters in the hopes that other users will write for them, and just for fun.- The Anonymous User 00:32, May 11, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks dude! I appreciate that! I haven't really taken requests, mostly just wrote bios for characters I have thought up, and got my artist friends to draw the images. I don't know how well I'd do with requests, honestly.- The Anonymous User 00:45, May 11, 2010 (UTC)
Not yet. Judging that it has the occult throughout makes me inclined to not read anymore, I must say that I really enjoyed your writing. I probably won't read anymore of this particular story, but look forward to any story you write in the future without those themes. Lemme know when that particular character is out when it happens (if ever). I may pick up at that point. SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 01:35, May 11, 2010 (UTC)
I appreciate fully that you're respecting my position on it. I read your profile on ff.net, and you seem like a remarkable young man, as it sounds like you've overcome some difficulties. I kinda wanna see your belly button now. XD I have an account on there, but I'm not too active on there. Anyway, I hope we can be friends as you seem like a nice guy (I am, too... well... a guy, anyway). SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 02:15, May 11, 2010 (UTC)
You're welcome. I want you to feel welcome, here. Also, I wish I had a cool belly button... Did you get an adequate elimination chart (you asked me a few weeks ago and I haven't checked as I don't want to spoil myself on your story... despite not reding it at the moment)? You mentioned when talking to TAU (I read, I'm ashamed) that you liked his character designs (and I'm assuming the pictures). I drew the ones for Zac and Stefan on Paint, and was wondering what you were going to ask him as it kind of pertained to me, I'm thinking... Hi, UT, "old man of the wiki" here. Since we haven't been formally introduced, I invite you to check out my User page (if you haven't already) to get a proper appreciation for just how proudly strange a person I really am. I currently have 2 stories posted, both noncomps. The longer of the two (~22 pages equivalent) made my name here on the wiki. My User page has links to both, as well as to a mammoth crossover that is my current work in progress.
One other thing, regarding the Featured Story/User/Image/Character voting pages: I don't know if it's a rule to put new nominations at the bottom of the page, but it is certainly customary. It's probably too late to move your nominee for this month, since it has a vote, but it's something to keep in mind the next time the admins clear the ballots. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! I have no reason to doubt that you meant no harm; but since you're new here, it stood to reason that you might not know the local customs. The writer of Travelization (another FS nominee the last couple of month) also jumped the queue out of innocent ignorance. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! I just did two pics for TAU. I'm currently not doing requests, especially since I'm getting ready to draw characters for my fourth main story. I don't know if I'll ever do them, again. Thanks for the compliment, though. I could try to help you out with the elimination chart if you want me to (by telling me how you want it done/colored). SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 13:27, May 11, 2010 (UTC)
That's okay. I'll get to it when I can, and that's how I meant. Maybe later, tonight. I'm writing at the moment and want to stay focused. I'm glad I can help. SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 20:37, May 11, 2010 (UTC)
I added the chart at least the colors you wanted. Tell me how you think it looks. I didn't add the low thing as I didn't know who was in the low group, and was slightly lazy. Let me know if you want to make any changes. SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 22:47, May 11, 2010 (UTC)

Hope you've got time on your hands
Warning: EXTREMELY long post follows. Hope you have time on your hands.
Bushy white beard? I'm not that old. (More like "graying sideburns" old.) Reminds me of something I read a number of years ago, where kids who were asked to draw pictures of people in their 60s invariably drew pictures of people in their 90s. As for temperament, it's true that I present a more genial image here than elsewhere--I doubt many folks here would guess that my real world personality is stongly introverted--but I can't remember the last time anyone described me as "jolly". When I was your age, the kids who knew me called me "Spock" (after the Star Trek character, not the baby doctor), and not without reason.
As for your request, please understand that I get a lot of requests to read people's stories. People who have been impressed by my writing naturally want to know what I think of theirs. I'll confess that my preference is generally for noncompetition stories with canon characters in central roles, and other demands on my time have been such that I generally haven't been able to do more than skim competition stories.
That said, I have skimmed your story, and I must say I'm impressed. Skimming doesn't really tell me much about the story's nuances, but it does give me a feel for the writer's style, and your style appears to be relatively sophisticated. Check out the Writer's Workshop I hosted, if you haven't already. You seem to already be implementing a number of the pointers I mentioned, which suggests to me that you and I have similar ideas as to what constitutes good writing. I will definitely have to check out your story in greater depth when I get the time. I have little interest in the occult, but I'm not really averse to it; so as long as it's not the central focus of the story, it shouldn't put me off.
Similarity of tastes cuts both ways, of course, and suggests that you will probably like my stories when you are able to get to them. Particularly in the case of Legacy, I would be much obliged if you would check it out before month-end and decide whether you think it deserves to be a Featured Story. (It finished a close 2nd last month, and appears to be in another tight race this time around.) While you don't yet have enough edits to vote--the requirement is 100 total edits--I find it hard to believe that you won't reach that threshold well before month-end.
A word of warning: like your story, mine also has a feature that might put some readers off. With TDNC, it's the occult references. With Legacy, it's a scene that, however brief, may be the most graphically bloody scene on the wiki. There are compelling dramatic reasons why that scene had to be there, and why it had to be graphic, but I recognized that it could be offputting to some readers (like Sprink). Indeed, from what I now know about Sprink, I'm a bit surprised that he stuck with the story after that scene, but we're both glad he did.
One more thing: the Special Pages section has a listing of Most Visited Pages. This will give you some idea of how much traffic your story is getting, even if people aren't commenting. TDNC already has over 300 views, including your own. There was a 5-month period where the counter wasn't working, so the top of the list isn't very accurate, but you can monitor current traffic. Long competition stories naturally tend to generate more traffic, because most people can't read them in one sitting and because they tend to be posted piecemeal. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 04:05, May 13, 2010 (UTC)
I'm glad you liked Legacy so well. I also like Hatchet; and he's my mother's favorite character, partly because of how he is drawn. (He is drawn in a style resembling that of the late Al Hirschfeld, who was famous for his caricatures of Broadway and movie stars.) Despite my warning, I didn't really expect the violent scene to bother you; as I noted, and you clearly understood, there was good reason for that scene to be the way it was, and it wasn't to slake the reader's bloodlust.
A note regarding story talk pages: just as with User talk pages, it is customary to put new comments at the bottom of the page in most situations. There's no rule against putting it elsewhere, but doing so will tend to make it less visible because people are used to looking for new comments at the bottom.
Since your commentary on Legacy is fairly detailed, it makes some sense to have it at the top of the page, so I propose to leave it there. When you're done, I'll set up a new heading (or you can) identifying your commentary as a "review" of sorts and segregating it from the regular chat-type discussion. Guess what my answer is... I usually just copy and paste another character box (after viewing the viewsource and then clicking the source icon in the upper right corner), and then replacing the information with what needs replacing. Hopefully that helps you out. Let me know if you need more help than that. SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 13:12, May 14, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, so I found this story in the FS list, and I really like it. The fact it was grammatically correct and lacked Mary-Sues (except Lily, but since I've only read the first two episodes, she probably has sometihng up her sleeve) The whole staff thing was kinda creepy and unrealistic, but I just ignored it all. Good job, and I hope to see more stories and updates for this soon. With the lights out, it's less dangerous. Here we are now, entertain us 11:35, May 15, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, Ult (I can call you that I hope). Anyway, it's against the rules to edit a page of someone else's even if it's to fix a typo or whatever. I know it's kind of a weird rule, but it prevents people from getting their pages changed in a way they don't want. If you want, you can ask for permission to fix the page, or let the writer know. (I'm not mad, this is just a little heads up). SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 00:31, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

In a recent blog comment, you said (among other nice things) that you were glad I was on the wiki because you wouldn't have read Legacy otherwise; so you might be interested in my very first blog post, wherein I described how I came to be on the wiki and how I came to write Legacy. I doubt you've seen it, since it predated your arrival by a couple of months, and people's old blog posts don't usually get much traffic. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! Because you asked
On the Featured User voting page, you expressed confusion over the QueenOrangeSoda (QOS) situation. I don't know a great deal about it, either, but this is the QOS situation as I understand it:
Around the first of the year, give or take, QOS was hit with a 1-year ban--the longest possible, short of a permanent ban--for doing things like editing other people's stories and making sexually explicit posts (most notably, posting a nude Eva picture on one of Spenny's character pages).
QOS reacted to the ban by creating a series of "sockpuppet" accounts, or sometimes just posting as an unregistered user. A "sockpuppet" account is an additional account by a registered user that is represented as being a different user. (The term originated on Wikipedia, which strictly forbids users having multiple accounts.) Sockpuppets are typically used for two nefarious purposes: to circumvent disciplinary actions (which is the case with QOS), or to stuff ballot boxes. Serial offenders like QOS will typically create sockpuppets as fast as they are blocked.
When QOS debuts a new sockpuppet, she sometimes behaves herself for a time, but usually reverts to form sooner or later. (A couple of months ago, for example, she posted a story that, according to reports, essentially killed Sprink in effigy.) For this reason, her sockpuppets tend to be suspected for some time before they are conclusively exposed. In addition, QOS seems unable to resist revealing herself to other Wikians, especially on Chatango.
When a QOS sockpuppet is exposed, it is banned--even if she has been behaving herself--because (a) the original ban has not run its course, and (b) running a sockpuppet account is, in and of itself, a serious breach of wiki rules.
It appears that the admins have finally had all they can take of QOS. In the Special Pages section, under the "Users and Rights" section, there is a page called "Blocked IP addresses and usernames". The admin notes accompanying the last couple of actions indicate the QOS is now banned permanently.
I have had limited dealings with a couple of her sockpuppets, and have treated her as politely and respectfully as I do everyone else. Anyway, I hope the foregoing clarifies the situation somewhat. I'm done with Zane Selleck's image. I hope you find it satisfactory, and I hope you don't mind that it's more than 150px (that's the width that allows a pic to be in a character box without becoming blurry). SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 01:45, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

I appreciate that. Maybe you could read my stories (if you want) and help me out with pointers. I personally prefer writing dialogue to scene description (and I try to write so it could believably be a TV episode), so there is intentionally a lack of description, though I've been trying to do slightly more. My later work is closer to my current writing style, so critique on early work may not be as useful. I just tend to read my early stuff and note what's wrong with it, so someone to help point it oiut as I'm doing it would be awesome, as long as you aren't needlessly harsh or critical. I really wanna read TDtNC, but you know my feelings on the occult elements. Sorry. I just can't waiver with that (until I got the memo that Arbok is out). As for story help... I don't know if I have anything to ask, as I come up with a lot of ideas, and TDIwriter helps me straighten out potentially offensive moments. SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 03:12, June 21, 2010 (UTC)
Regarding Arbok's construction, there are some types of wood that sink in water. If anyone else asks, you can say that Arbok is made of Lignum vitae, which is about a third more dense than water (~80 lb per cubic foot, compared to 62.4 for water) and three times harder than oak. I recommend that you also include this tidbit, with the Wikipedia link, on Arbok's character page. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! On the newsletter signups page, you inquired into the nature of the Story Reviews slot. A would-be reviewer asked a few months ago, As a newsletter reviewer, you would be writing reviews for one or more stories on the wiki. You would not be limited to whatever's at the top of the queue on the Story Reviews forum page, but could review anything that hasn't already had a formal review, presumably defined as a review appearing in a previous newsletter or linked to from the Story Reviews sidebar menu. Speaking of the sidebar menu, if you want to write a review for that listing, you should post it as a blog post. (There may be additional requirements, but that is beyond my knowledge.) Thanks, and good luck to you and TDNC as well. I think you're right, that this month's race is likely to be a tight one. Stories tend to get their strongest support when they are nearly finished or recently finished, and this month's ballot doesn't appear to have any popular stories of that description. I think that Shane's story, TD Craziness, is probably a slight favorite, as it is popular and is only a couple of months past its completion date. Although it didn't do especially well last month, it place 3rd in May (behind TD Infinity and Legacy) and was runnerup to Legacy in June.
For various reasons, I don't expect TDI-G&S to win this month, although I think it can make a respectable showing. I'm also not surprised that it's drawing Oppose votes for not having an original plot, although I think people who Oppose on that basis are missing the point, since it's plenty creative in other ways. That's as may be, nominating it gives it exposure on a high-traffic page, and nobody is claiming that it's not well written (although some people have said it's confusing--no surprise there). Nominating TDI-G&S also gives me some idea of who is reading it, since its talk page has been virtually dead for the last 2 months and the visit counter doesn't identify readers. Well, I was beginning to think that TDNC was temporarily stalled, and so that admittedly why I took my vote down. I tend to support fic that will either be almost guaranteed to be finished or completed. Plus most stories are featured around the merge, so I personally thought it was possibly a little too soon. I haven't seen any Oppose votes for that reason in a long time, so I didn't say anything. I'll repost my vote soon, because I'm a bit busy right now.I love you when you dance when you're freestyling trance So pure such an expression 22:11, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
Although I am supporting several stories this month (including yours, of course), I'm hoping that Violet Hill wins. While it isn't the wiki's (or even TDIRM's) best-written one-shot, it is certainly the best-loved; and, with no clear favorite this month, this might be its best chance. Thanks for your support of TDI-G&S on the FS ballot. As you have probably guessed, my writing in general and TDI-G&S in particular are geared to the older kids here (although if 12-year-olds like Reddy and Bocaj can appreciate it, then more power to them), and that's where most of my support seems to be coming from. It's nice to know that I seem to be reaching my target audience. P.S., I see that you have a minor milestone (edit #500) coming up. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! I noticed on your Userpage that you've never had a girlfriend/boyfriend. If it makes you feel any better, lots of perfectly normal people don't start dating until college age. I had my first date when I was 18, and my first girlfriend when I was 20. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 02:35, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
Well, for the last couple of weeks, I haven't been around as much either, as I explained in my latest blog post (in case you missed it). As for the camps wiki, I looked over a few of the camps, and I don't think I would thrive there. The camps just don't look like they would play to my strengths. Besides, hanging out on this wiki sucks down enough of my time as it is. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 02:53, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
I used to read AGatha Christie novels a lot, so I don't consider them too horrible, though IDK how I feel about it, now. XD I will give it a read, and determine whether I feel comfortable reading it. You can use me, I guess, if you wopuld like. My traits are anxious (IDK if you saw my post where I announced I have Asperger's, but I tend to get really nervous in social situations/seeing a stranger five blocks down, while I'm walking across the street. XD), awkward (in movement, and speech), and compassionate (as in, I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I try my best not to hate or overreact). SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 22:53, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
Can I add that my anxious behaviour is usually not expressed externally? I tend to get quiet, and avoid people, as opposed to rocking back and forth and verbalizing my anxiety. Sometimes I tend to talk more when I'm anxious, jnot about what is bothering me, but because I kind of can't control it, then I ramble about nothing specific. If you wanna go that angle, okay. AS for the compassionate side, I don't condone behavior I don't agree with, I just don't hate who does it, ya know? XD SprinklemistCyan is the new green. 01:39, November 3, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I do drink tea sometimes, usually at the office. I usually drink it for the caffeine (because I don't like coffee), so I will usually drink green or black teas. I also like chai tea. I'll drink herbal teas, but I don't seek them out. On a competely unrelated note, lest I forget, thanks for supporting TDI-G&S again. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! It's fine, I didn't know it was word-play on my username, and I didn't mind either way.
Regarding your earlier question: if you have me drinking tea in your story, I suggest Earl Grey. This black tea blend is the favorite of Jean-Luc Picard, captain of the Enterprise in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! I wish to ask you something. Since of course, I've read several of your stories, I ask if you'd like to put yourself on my friends list. " You're 30% arrogant, 30% ignorant, and 40% idiot!" " Yep, she soo has a crush on me." Nickelodeon has the best lines. XD 00:12, December 24, 2010 (UTC)
thanks for adding your name to my friends list. I always try my best to not only improve my writing, but I try to keep a positive 'tude. Now for a random question, have you seen the Toy Story trilogy. " You're 30% arrogant, 30% ignorant, and 40% idiot!" " Yep, she soo has a crush on me." Nickelodeon has the best lines. XD 00:27, December 24, 2010 (UTC)
Same here. Even though I loved the first 2 movies, somehow, the 3rd movie was the best IMO. The reason I ask is because on Christmas I'll be doing this big bash that involves the holidays and also me getting past my 1,000 edit with shout-outs (involving you) and also this review of Toy Story 3 and the link to a fanfic I'm doing based on the popular Pixar franchise. Ah, sorry about the late reply, my Internet's been out. I'd say Trent and Gwen in TDI. If it has o be a current couple (like, as of Hawaiian Punch) Lindsay and Tyler.
Hey, Ult! I'm just letting you know that I've rejoined... I plan to finally catch-up on my reading, and that includes yours.
I don't want to seem redundant --- quitting, coming back, hiatus, writing again --- but I really miss all of you people. I'm sure I'll continue in my writing, probably writing TDI-parodies of my planned novels while I'm at it.
JAN (Just a note), I mentioned you in my latest blog post. Just thought I'd say that. " You're 30% arrogant, 30% ignorant, and 40% idiot!" " Yep, she soo has a crush on me." Nickelodeon has the best lines. XD 21:27, January 1, 2011 (UTC)

I've put up my vote for TDNC on the FS ballot, but I'll mention something that's probably already occurred to you. Although I will continue to support TDNC, it probably won't get a strong showing again until it gets far enough along for people to have some confidence that it will be completed someday. Of course, if we get another month with very light voter turnout, such as when Endurance won with only four supporting votes, then all bets are off. A scenario like that is probably TDNC's best chance as matters currently stand. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 01:30, March 15, 2011 (UTC)

Ult, we (meaning I and the other admins--yes, I'm an admin now) need to know whether you plan to continue TDNC. Unfinished stories become candidates for deletion after 12 months without a meaningful update, unless the author states intent to continue, and TDNC hits that mark on New Year's Day. Please let me know what you plan to do. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! A wandering minstrel, I-- 04:37, December 23, 2011 (UTC)
TDNC is now officially a candidate for deletion, because it's gone a year without an update. If you plan to continue it, you need to tell us within one week, per wiki policy. (Note that you wouldn't need to post an update within a week; all we would need is a statement of intent to continue.) If we don't hear from you, the story will be deleted, along with its associated character pages. Gideoncrawle I have a song to sing, O! Sing me your song, O! Do you plan to continue The TDI Fanfiction Wiki: A Horror Story? It hasn't been updated in over a year, and so has become a candidate for deletion.
